From: £1,350.00
This package includes:
First you will need to obtain the D1 category on your licence. Once you have this you can then apply for the D1+E licence meaning you can drive D1 category vehicles with a trailer over 750kg MAM (maximum authorised mass). The combined MAM of both cannot exceed 12,000kg.
If you passed your category B licence after January 1997 you would need to follow the steps below to obtain your category D1+E licence:
Apply for the provisional entitlement using form D2, we can supply this to you, or you can get one online from the DVSA here: Order DVLA forms – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
Apply for and attend a medical using the form D4, again we can help you to book this part of the process and help you with the forms.
Attend and pass the theory tests required. There are 2 if you wish to drive a D1+E vehicle privately. If you want to drive a D1+E vehicle (minibus & trailer) for hire and reward you will need to complete a third theory test which is the CPC Module 2 case study theory test.
Once you have passed your theory you are ready for your practical driver training. You will be taught by one of our highly skilled instructors. You will learn how to drive the vehicle safely on the road and practice the manoeuvres such as coupling and uncoupling the trailer.
When you are ready you will then sit your DVSA practical driving test.
If you pass your D1+E practical test and you wish you drive a minibus for hire and reward then you will need to take a further practical test which is the Module 4 CPC. This is a show me tell me practical where you are required to demonstrate your knowledge and ability on areas such as vehicle safety, securing loads and your ability to manage emergency situations.
You can attend one of our fully equipped depots based in Portsmouth, Southampton, Worthing and Reading.
There are many possible questions that your examiner could ask you when completing your D1+E test, click on the link below to see which questions you could be asked:
Very professional highly qualified staff. Thanks to Mark from Worthing side first time pass C license??
A very professional driving school from the moment I contacted them. Jack in the office Is very helpful and knowledgeable and got me in for a free driving assessment with Neil my instructor. Once I completed that I booked my week course the very following week.I had Neil the whole week to myself for three hour lessons. He is very knowledgeable and patient explained everything and broke it down into manageable chunks for me to understand practice and make perfect.Nothing is rushed and there is plenty of time to get to grips with coupling/uncoupling,reversing exercise. When it came to my test he had me in a position where I was capable of doing it and starting to believe in my own capabilities and all I had to do now is demonstrate the skills that Neil had taught me.Neil is a great instructor and can’t recommend enough as are the rest of the crew I met at 2 start training. All I can end in saying it was money well spent.
I cannot recommend 2 Start enough! Not only are they friendly, helpful and professional, but they also work miracles! Family and friends mocked me (no spacial awareness, not natural ability to drive, never driven anything bigger than a Toyota Yaris, etc) for even trying to learn to drive a coach. But somehow 2 Start succeeded in getting me not only confidently driving the coach, but also to pass my test in it, after only 7 days!! Hats off to the team - they displayed patience and positivity even at the hairiest of moments! (And mostly managed to avoid female driver related jokes!!). If you need to learn to drive anything big, use 2 Start!
