What the rules mean
These new rules now mean that:
- Drivers who passed their car driving test from 1st January 1997 will now be allowed to tow trailers up to 3,500kgs MAM without completing and passing an additional car & trailer test.
The DVSA halted all car & trailer tests from 20th September 2021.
Changes to driving licences
The car and trailer (B+E) category will be added to driving licences, with new photocard driving licences being issued to those who it concerns.
