Who Is The Transport Manager CPC For?
Although the law requires the course to be completed by anyone who wants to become the named Transport Manager on an Operator Licence, it is also ideal for other transport and logistics professionals. The course can allow Company Directors, Fleet Managers, and Compliance Officers to upgrade their qualifications and ensure they have thorough understanding of haulage operations.
There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification. However, it is recommended that students have both English and Maths skills equivalent to Level 2 (GCSE) standard before studying this qualification.

How To Become A Transport Manager

The online course includes live instructor-led sessions, digital learning materials, mock exams, guidance on exam preparation and tutor support throughout. You still receive all the same support as you would in person, just virtually instead!
Exam Requirements
Our Transport Manager CPC Course is designed to give learners the knowledge and understanding in preparation for the two required exams. For the online Transport Manager CPC exams, you will complete your exams at home. However, there are certain conditions you must follow. You must complete your exam in a room, by yourself, keep your camera and microphone on, and minimise time away from your screen.
The Total Qualification Time (TQT) for this course is 141 hours, including 72 hours of guided learning. In order to become a certified Transport Manager, candidates must successfully complete both the Case Study exam and the Multiple Choice exam.
CILT(UK) qualification specifications and associated materials are offered in English only. All assessment responses must be in English only.
Case Study Exam
There are three case study questions, which each focus on a specific module you have studied throughout the course.
For this exam, you will also be provided with any additional information relevant to your answering of the question.
The case study exam lasts for 2 hours and 15 minutes.
The pass mark is 50% (30 out of 60) with 20 marks being available for each question.
Multiple Choice Exam
The multiple-choice exam is closed book based, so you will not be provided supporting resources during your examination. The goal of this assessment is to test your analysis and evaluation of the core knowledge around the modules, laws and legislations.
The paper will last for 2 hours.
The pass mark for this multiple-choice exam is of 28 marks out of 40.
To achieve the CILT(UK) Level 3 Certificate of Professional Competence for Transport Managers (Road Haulage) Learners will need to pass both Paper 1 and Paper 2.
If either Paper 1 or Paper 2 is not achieved in one sitting, a resit for that Paper will be required.
Ongoing Requirements
When the course is completed, future requirements will include completing refresher training (also known as Operator Licence Awareness Training). This ensures you keep updated with the rules, regulations and legislations. The general rule is to complete this every five years. However, the Traffic Commissioner can instruct you to complete refresher training when they believe you need to complete this.
