The steps that candidates will need to complete will be explained in further detail below:

Step 1 – Driver Medical and Provisional Licence

All students who wish to complete one of our cat c training courses will first need to complete their driver medical. This will involve taking your D4 medical form with you, to your medical, for your doctor to fill out. The helpful and friendly team that we have here at 2 Start Training, will be able to arrange and book your LGV medical for you conveniently and locally, making the process easier!

You will also need to apply for your provisional entitlement, which will allow you to drive a Category C vehicle.

Step 3 – Cat C Training and Test

When you have completed your medical and you have received your LGV 2 provisional licence from the DVLA, you will then be able to begin booking your theory and hazard perception tests.

In order to be successful, you will need to correctly answer 67/100 questions on your Hazard Perception test and 85/100 on your Theory Test.

Step 2 – Theory & Hazard Perception Tests

Once you have passed your HGV theory tests, you will then be able to start your cat c training and work towards gaining your licence. Our team will help you decide which course is the ideal one for you, with a variety of options available, including courses suitable for complete novices, all the way up to the more experienced drivers.

The length of your cat c training will depend upon which one of our courses you choose to complete, with all of our courses working towards building your confidence and getting you ready for your DVSA test. All of our LGV courses are taught by highly experienced and dedicated, professional instructors, all of whom will ensure you have the skills and knowledge that you need to pass your test.
