Our IPAF 3a demonstrator training is a 1 day course, covering both theory and practical elements necessary for the operator certification.
This course trains a “demonstrator” how to familiarise other operators regarding their roles and responsibilities, as well as demonstrating pre-operational checks and safety procedures for the 3a mobile vertical MEWP. You will also cover the limitations of the MEWP category. This course will cover various aspects regarding the use and functionality of MEWPs. This ensures accurate, safe use of the machine applicable.
In order to complete demonstrator training, you must have already completed and passed an operator course for the relevant machine.

Complete 3a IPAF Demonstration With 2 Start
During this course, you must show that you can carry out the necessary tasks revolving around the role of the demonstrator. You must be able to familiarise other operators regarding their responsibilities, and demonstrate safe pre-operational and operating procedures within the correct regulations.
You must also be able to identify the limitations of MEWPs, such as height restrictions, and weight limits.
The course is ideal for site supervisors and managers as it’s important that they are able to show others how to properly operate MEWPs. Additionally, those who are demonstrating powered access platforms to customers will also need to have taken this course and secured the correct qualification.
Course Elements
- The pre-use checks carries out before MEWP use
- Daily maintenance, which must be carried out before commencing work(s)
- The correct and safe method of operating a 3a Mobile Vertical MEWP
- The appropriate emergency procedures
- Specifications and limitations of the 3a mobile vertical in order to enable safe operation
