ALLMI – Lorry Loader

The ALLMI Novice course is ideal for those who are completely new to the world of HIAB. This course will give you extensive knowledge on operating a lorry mounted crane. If you don’t have any previous HIAB training, then our novice course is the one for you!

The ALLMI Operator course consists of 15 modules, the two-day courses culminate in a written and practical examination. ALLMI is notified (by our team) of all courses in advance of the training taking place. The assessment process is set by ALLMI and administered by our instructor. It consists of two theoretical assessments and one practical. The theoretical assessments consist of a set of multiple-choice and ‘open’ questions, as well as questions that relate specifically to the crane attachment being used. The practical assessment is designed to identify whether the candidate has the appropriate practical skills to operate a lorry loader safely and efficiently.

Duration

The ALLMI HIAB Novice (1 Attachment: Brick Grab or Hook) course is completed over a 2-day period.

Instructors

The training day starts at 08:30 and finishes at 16:30 with a maximum of three students to one instructor ratio. This will enable the instructor with enough time to properly instruct operators on different types of lifts and to instruct students on the theory.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, every candidate will:

Receive an identity card and certificate, which are valid for five years, after which time a refresher course and assessment needs to be completed.

Be registered on the ALLMI Operator database.

Receive the ALLMI Operator’s manual, which is used as a reference guide throughout their career.

The identity card and certificate will show the categories for which the operator is licenced.

ALLMI Operator training is the UK’s only lorry loader training programme to be commended by the Health & Safety Executive. The programme is also recognised by Build UK and is referenced within the organisation’s official “Training Standard”.

This HIAB Novice ALLMI (1 Attachment: Brick Grab OR Hook) course is available to be completed at all 4 of our training centres which includes locations in Portsmouth, Southampton, Reading and Worthing.
