ALLMI – Lorry Loader

The ALLMI Novice course is ideal for those who are completely new to the world of HIAB. This course will give you extensive knowledge on operating a lorry mounted crane. If you don’t have any previous HIAB training, then our novice course is the one for you!

The ALLMI Operator course consists of 15 modules (depending on whether the candidate is a novice or experienced operator). Both the one and two-day courses culminate in a written and practical examination. ALLMI is notified (by our team) of all courses in advance of the training taking place.

The assessment process is set by ALLMI and administered by our instructor. It consists of two theoretical assessments and one practical. The theoretical assessments consist of a set of multiple-choice and ‘open’ questions, as well as questions that relate specifically to the crane attachment being used.

Duration

The ALLMI HIAB Novice (Clamshell Attachment) course is completed over a 2-day period.

Instructors

The training day starts at 08:30 and finishes at 16:30 with a maximum of three students to one instructor ratio. This will enable the instructor with enough time to properly instruct operators on different types of lifts and to instruct students on the theory.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, every candidate will:

Receive an identity card and certificate, which are valid for five years, after which time a refresher course and assessment needs to be completed.

Be registered on the ALLMI Operator database.

Receive the ALLMI Operator’s manual, which is used as a reference guide throughout their career.

The identity card and certificate will show the categories for which the operator is licenced.

ALLMI Operator training is the UK’s only lorry loader training programme to be commended by the Health & Safety Executive. The programme is also recognised by Build UK and is referenced within the organisation’s official “Training Standard”.

Locations

Our HIAB Novice ALLMI (Clamshell Attachment) course can be held at our Southampton, Worthing or Theale depots, alternatively, our instructors can come off-site to your premises and conduct the training with your team and equipment at your own location.
