This course is typically completed over a 5-day period and includes both theory and practical training. This is the perfect course for candidates who have no previous formal training on a Moffett truck.
When training has been completed, you will have to complete three elements of testing; a theory test, a pre-use inspection test and the practical skills test. Each one of these tests needs to be passed in order to successfully obtain your operators card and certificate.
If you are successful in completing this course, you will be issued with an ITSSAR accredited certificate and licence card.
Course length could be shortened if the course is not booked at full capacity.
Drivers who already hold an LGV licence can expand their skills by acquiring a Vehicle Mounted Forklift Certificate, commonly known as a Moffett Mounty.
This qualification enables drivers to carry a forklift attached to the rear of their truck which enables them to load and unload themselves.
A Moffett truck is a truck-mounted forklift. It can perform a number of tasks that regular forklifts can, such as carrying loads, but it is light enough that it can be transported on the back of a truck. A major advantage of using a Moffett truck is that it can save money and time as you won’t need to pay to deliver a forklift, as well as the products.

I highly recommend 2 Start training. Due to having some spare time on my hands I decided to take some courses to improve my chances of being offered a different variety of work. I have just completed my HIAB training, ADR course, Moffett and counterbalance forklift course. I successfully passed them all. The quality and standard of training is excellent and I am planning to do my slingers course although since passing the courses I have already have had many of offers of work so will now need to find the time! Many thanks to Alan, Paul and Joe for the training and Daisy for her efficient and prompt organisation of the courses.
