IPAF stands for International Powered Access Federation and is recognised on a national and international level in the construction industry. These IPAF courses revolve around the use of MEWPs (Mobile Elevating Work Platforms) and will give our students the knowledge and abilities they need to safely and securely operate MEWPs and pass their test. The MEWPs that we use in our training includes Cherry Pickers, Scissor Lifts and Static Boom/Trailer Mounted Cherry Pickers.
Our Worthing depot has a wide range of IPAF training courses for you to choose from, all of which will teach you different skills and knowledge. The IPAF courses we offer include:
Those students who are successful in completing our IPAF training courses will receive IPAF accredited certification and PAL card, which will be valid for up to 5-years. Once your qualification has expired after the 5-years, you will be required to complete a refresher training course.
The length of your training course will depend on which of our IPAF courses you decide to complete, all of our courses take between 0.5-1 days to complete. Additionally, if you want to complete one of our IPAF & PASMA combined courses, these both take 2-days to complete.
We currently have a variety of dates available on our website for you to complete your IPAF training, but we are also working hard and continuously adding new dates to ensure our students have a wide selection to choose from.
PAL stands for Powered Access License. It demonstrates that the holder has been trained fully and can operate platforms confidently and safely. If you successfully complete a training course at 2 Start the International Powered Access Federation will issue you a PAL card.
If you need to work at height, training is important so machines can be used effectively and safely whilst complying with legal requirements. In addition, the trainee will gain a new skill. IPAF training ensures that within a company the right safety measures and accident prevention has been put into place.
All our IPAF courses are created by industry experts to give platform workers everything they need to confidently operate Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs.) They will include everything needed for operators so it will conform to ISO 18878 ‘Mobile elevating work platforms – Operator (driver) training.’
The smart PAL card has been created for modern and convenient use. Its machine readable to ensure only trained professionals are able to use the machines. The card has a chip on it which contains information such as which machines the owner is trained on. Besides this, no other personal information is stored on the card, in line with the data protection legislation. Using a smart PAL card ensures site safety for everyone so the machines can only be used correctly. It also prevents any fraudulent activity occurring as it tracks exactly who uses the machine and when.
Those candidates who complete their IPAF training at our Worthing depot will be able to utilise our industry-leading facilities. Our Worthing depot has new fully-equipped classroom which includes air-conditioning and extremely spacious and clean warehouse facilities with more than enough space for students to comfortably complete their training.
Here at 2 Start, one of our top priorities is ensuring our students have a clean and comfortable training environment which is why we work hard to ensure all of our depots are clean and tidy.
