We can even help you with work once you’ve passed your qualification. Investing your time in a training course can broaden your opportunities and kick-start your future. With 2 Start, we are with you every step of the way. Within the industry, HGV has now officially changed and is classified as LGV. For more information on this change please click the link below:
Please note that you will have to complete your LGV 2 before you can move onto learning LGV 1. Find out more information about the steps involved below:
- Application Process – Medical
- Theory Test
- Training and Practical
Why train with 2 start?
- We are constantly investing in our fleet to ensure we continue to provide the best vehicles for our customers.
- Fully Qualified on the National Register of LGV Instructors.
- We have hundreds of happy previous customers and currently have a 4.9 rating on Google.
- It’s easy to say that we are the ‘Premier Driving School’, but the proof is in the facilities offered and the results obtained by our students.
The LGV Application Process
The LGV applications process starts with the learner acquiring a provisional entitlement. This allows for a higher category of vehicle to be put on your license. You will also need to complete a drivers medical exam. Here, you will be assessed on various health aspects relevant to driving. These sorts of examinations are a standard requirement for most driver training courses. We help to ensure these tests are as smooth and stress-free as possible. Then our team can arrange LGV 2 application medicines with local practitioners. Please bring a copy of the completed D4 medical application when you attend your medical.
We also require that you complete an application for provisional C license, which we will send directly to you. Once received please send off with your current driving license and D4 medical form in the designated DVLA envelope we provide. Please see the medical form below.
LGV Theory Test
Once your medical examination and provisional entitlement are complete its time to prepare for your two theory tests. Similar to a standard driving test you must complete a theory (85/100) and hazard perception test (67/100). To receive your personal login details please call our office on 0118 402 1861.
Practise is a crucial aspect to helping you pass the first time. We offer access to online practise theory test software to give you as much guidance as possible to succeed. If you passed your car test after the 1st January 1997 then you must sit the CPC case studies test. This is held at your local DCA centre, where your original theory tests are held. Providing Expert HVG/LGV Training to Learners from Worthing
We are dedicated to making the training process as smoothly and easily as possible. Our friendly team work closely with you to fulfil your needs. Our courses generally occur between Monday-Friday. Testing can occur midweek or on a Saturday if needed. Once your theory tests are passed you can begin your practical LGV driver training.
Your training sessions will take place over a five-day period. The sessions begin at 07:00, 10:30 and 14:00. There are two options for learning sessions. You will either have a one-to-one session over a three-and-a-half-hour period or a two-to-one instruction over a seven-hour period. This gives plenty of opportunities for our instructors to go over different test routes and exercises. If you obtained your original driving license after September 1997, you will need to pass your initial CPC before you can drive for hire and reward. Learn more about the CPC.
As well as providing LGV Driver training in Worthing, we offer a variety of courses in the surrounding areas and across the UK. We offer finance solutions for individuals to avoid the upfront costs and train immediately.
