The Forklift training opportunities we provide are as follows:
Powered Pallet Trucks
A powered pallet truck is sometimes also known as an electric pallet mover and is typically used in a warehouse environment. This equipment is used to efficiently move pallets at ground level and for loading and offloading pallets from numerous vehicles.
Counterbalance Forklift Truck
A counterbalance forklift truck is a standard forklift which is used both outdoors and inside. It allows you to manoeuvre up to the precise position of the load you are attempting to move. This is because the forks extend from the front of the machine. The correct training to use this machine is vital because overloading can result in the vehicle tipping over.
Why train with 2 start?
- We are constantly investing in our machines to ensure we continue to provide the best vehicles for our customers.
- We have hundreds of happy previous customers and currently have a 4.9 rating on Google.
- It’s easy to say that we are the ‘Premier Driving School’, but the proof is in the facilities offered and the results obtained by our students.
Reach Forklift Truck
Reach Forklift Trucks work effectively in tight spaces and are typically utilised in warehouses and other indoor spaces. These machines are excellent as they are agile and can reach certain heights. The primary use of these Forklifts is to load and offload products at larger heights.
Bendi Forklift Trucks
A Bendi forklift’s alternative name is a pivot steer forklift and has a “bend” in the middle of the machine between the forks and body. These machines are ideal, being easy to operate and manoeuvre, ideal in tight spaces and being comfortable to ride.
A Moffett truck is a truck-mounted forklift and can perform a number of tasks that standard forklifts can. Its additional benefit is that it is light enough to be carried on a truck, eliminating the need for an additional forklift delivery. This saves both time and money.
How long will my course take?
The length of the course varies depending on the specific vehicle and level. All courses range from novice and experienced to refresher courses, which last between 1 and 5 days. You will receive your operating card and certificate upon successful completion of your chosen course. You will also be registers onto the TOPS scheme. TOPS stands for The Trained Operator Passport Scheme and is a record of all the training you’ve successfully completed. This system can reduce accidents as it proves that training has been completed to a satisfactory standard. The minimum age to operate a forklift is 18.
What is a forklift licence?
Completing a forklift course is simply a certification and not an actual licence. Once you’ve completed your chosen course, you will receive your operating card and certificate. There is no necessity to have a driving licence to operate any kind of forklift truck. The only time this would be required is if travelling on a public highway.
I have never used a forklift before, what is the best course for me?
If you have never used a Forklift, we would recommend a 5-day novice course. If your training is 1:1 this may be reduced to 3 days. In order to complete a 1-day refresher course, you would need a certificate. In this case, you must do the 3-day experienced operators’ course. If your certificate has run out, you must complete the 1-day refresher course.
Testing is broken down into 3 parts.
- Pre-shift check test
- Theory test comprising of 20 multiple choice question and 5 short explanation questions.
- Practical operational test. Driving through a chicane and 3 lifts at differing heights.
