From leaving school at the age of 16 in 1991, Danny Lateu, originally from the Kent, joined the Army with The Queens Regiment, (Infantry) now The Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment.
During his long and impeccable military career Danny completed 23 years and served in Northern Ireland and Bosnia, also carrying out training exercises and assisting with the instruction of young officers in Cyprus, Belize and Kenya just to name a few. He obtained his LGV 2, LGV 1, and coach licence whilst serving and decided to specialise within the Motor Transport Platoon becoming an LGV driving Instructor, Hazmat (ADR) instructor and Defence Driving examiner. Starting as a driver, Danny soon moved up the ranks and took on the roll of Transport Supervisor and for a short period, Transport Manager with 12 staff and 125 different wheeled vehicles and trailers.
Other roles filled included: Intelligence gathering in Northern Ireland, Guard Dog Handler, Recruitment consultant, Hospitality and Hotel Management, Store/Warehouse manager and lastly prior to leaving a Recruiting Team Manager for his Regiment.
After serving his country and leaving the services, Danny worked as an LGV 1 driver for just over a year. However, wanting to put his skills and knowledge to good use and for his love of training Danny joined 2Start Ltd in May 2016. He joined us as an ITSSAR Counterbalance instructor which was completed as part of his resettlement package. He has now spread his skills across various types of Forklift, Lorry Mounted crane and instructing CPC Mod 4 and taken up the roll of Depot Manager in Portchester.
In his spare time, Danny enjoys keeping fit, motorcycling and relaxing with his family. Engaged to Fearn, Danny has two kids.
