PCV Driver Training, Category D Bus Licence
Minibus (D1) – 9-16 Passenger Seats
PCV (Category D or D1 Licence) is for a minibus or coaches with more than eight passenger seats for hire or reward and a trailer of up to 750 kg. The
Category D Licence entitles the driver to drive any size of PCV, including single or double decker buses for hire or reward.
Typically the PCV Driver training course is spread over 5 days with one-to-one tuition in our vehicle. Our professional PCV Driver training instructors will teach you to drive confidently and safely to a high standard of driving beyond what is required for the PCV driving test in order to give you the best chance of passing first time and being safe on the road. Our PCV training instructors treat each trainee driver according to their ability to ensure that they are ready for the PCV driving test on the fifth day at the local test centre. Our Leyland Day 54 seater coach is equipped with a modern automatic gearbox which will enable you to drive the vast majority of coaches used in passenger transport. With the change of legislation looming you will soon also be entitled to driver a manual PCV as long as you have passed your car test in a manual vehicle.
