ALLMI – Lorry Loader
The ALLMI experienced operators’ course is catered for candidates that have previous experience, with no formal training or certification of operating a lorry mounted crane. This 1-day course starts at 09:00 and ends at 16:30 on both training days and runs on a 3 students to one instructor ratio.
The ALLMI Operator course consists of 15 modules (depending on whether the candidate is a novice or experienced operator). Both the one and two day courses culminate in a written and practical examination. ALLMI is notified (by our team) of all courses in advance of the training taking place. The assessment process is set by ALLMI and administered by our instructor. It consists of two theoretical assessments and one practical. The theoretical assessments consist of a set of multiple choice and ‘open’ questions, as well as questions which relate specifically to the crane attachment being used. The practical assessment is designed to identify whether the candidate has the appropriate practical skills to operate a lorry loader safely and efficiently.
If this course is successfully completed, the successful candidates:
- Will receive an identity card and pass certificate
- Be registered on the ALLMI Operator database
- Receive the ALLMI Operator’s manual
The certificate and identity car are valid for five years after they have been attained, after which a refresher course and assessment will need to be completed. The identity card and certificate will show which show which categories the operator is licensed to use.
ALLMI Operator training is the UK’s only lorry loader training programme to be commended by the Health & Safety Executive. The programme is also recognised by Build UK and is referenced within the organisation’s official “Training Standard”.
This course is available to be completed at any of our 4 training depots which includes centres in Portsmouth, Southampton, Reading and Worthing.
