This course is usually completed over 3 days and includes theory and practical training. This course is designed for those students that have operated a Pivot Steer forklift without a certificate, gained their certification over 5 years ago or have lost their certificates.
Once training is done, there are three tests that you need to complete which include; a theory test, a pre-use inspection test and the practical skills test. All three tests need to be completed in order to successfully achieve your operators’ card and certificate.

Forklift Truck Training
Driving forklift trucks requires specialised training and instruction from fully qualified trainers. This can help reduce the likelihood of accidents and improve the safety of both drivers and pedestrians. Professional forklift driver training can also reduce truck downtime, racking and product damage. To drive any forklift truck correctly it requires training in a classroom and a hands-on environment, thus ensuring things run as smoothly as possible once the candidates have passed successfully.
What is a Bendi forklift?
The difference between a Bendi forklift and a regular forklift is its design, having a “bend” in the middle between the forks and the body of the vehicle. A Bendi forklift truck, which can also be called a pivot steer forklift, comes with a lot of advantages compared to other types of forklifts, such as: being easy to operate and manoeuvre, good in tight spaces (similar to the reach forklift) and generally being a more comfortable ride than a lot of other forklifts.
This course is available for you to complete at our Southampton depot.
Additionally, we offer our customers the opportunity to have their staff trained on their own sites using their own machines. This can give the students the advantage of being trained on the machine that they are going to be operating daily. The areas that we cover include; Portsmouth, Chichester, Fareham, Southampton, Eastleigh, Romsey, Newbury, Reading, Crawley, Basingstoke, Brighton and Worthing.
Facilities required on your site
In order for training to be completed on your site, you need a training room suitable for the number of candidates, sufficient practical training space so that assessments and testing can be completed. Delegates will require PPE as per the company’s internal risk assessments.
Click the link to read our Facilities and Equipment Requirements Guide to find out how you can complete training on one of your sites. Facilities and Equipment Requirements Guide.
