After I had decided to pursue a career in the Transport industry early in 2011, I began searching for a training provider; my interest was quickly focussed to the Company based in Portchester ‘2 Start Ltd’. I made my initial inquires and was given first-class advise by Lorraine who invited me in to meet the boss Paul.
From my first meeting with Paul he was able to explain in plain language what I needed to accomplish to start my practical training, he explained that they had Career Transition Partnership (CTP) accreditation and they where also a recognised learning provider for the Enhanced Learning Credits Administration Service (ELCAS) all which where key ingredients for myself as a service leaver. He was fully aware of the system and advised me on all aspects of ELCAS and the package 2 Start Ltd could provide. And so onto my training package.
MY first week on Class 2 rigid truck was spent with Ken, who immediately put me at ease and with a no nonsense approach told me what I needed to know, putting all his advise into practice I was quickly gaining confidence and was soon ready for my test, one small mistake saw me fail my first attempt but I did a retest as soon as I could a secured a pass much to my delight.
For my Class 1 Licence I started with Oly, again very professional and explained everything clearly and with good humour all I needed to know to move forward, and tips to work on each day to improve. Oly has an Excellent Puppy analogy for reversing which I was mumbling to myself even on the test. For my class one I also spent a day with Paul who also gave me lots of good help and lots more to think about. On my final day of Class 1 training and for the day of my test I had Bob who has a lot of experience and put me trough my paces and made sure I was ready for my test which I passed first time.
I have also done my CPC with 2 start and my HIAB/MOFFETT/FORKLIFT and my ADR they really are a one stop shop, giving excellent levels of professional instruction and also providing me with possible work contacts for the future and couldn’t recommend them more highly than I do.

I originally chose 2 Start for my class 1 training because they replied to my initial contact requesting information on Easter Monday. I thought that anybody who could make the effort to reply on a Bank Holiday would be the sort of people I would like to spend my money with. That turned out to be one of my better decisions.
2 Start is staffed by as friendly and capable bunch of people as you could meet in any form of business and I would recommend them to anybody wishing to work within the transport industry without hesitation.

Sorry its been so long, pc broke.. Been working for 6 weeks now, great job with good company to work for and they do cpc trainin to.. So I would like to say thanx very much for brilliant training with brilliant instructors and will always recommend your company to everybody.. I wish i did it years ago.. Id like to say a massive thanks to the people at 2-start training, I had bob and paul take me out for my C+E and was impressed with the level of training and being trained by real lorry drivers that know what everyday scenarios an artic driver comes accross and not only preparing me for test, but preparing me for those aswell. I did my class 2 with another big company in the area and they were quite honestly a shower compared to 2-start.
The course was well structured and decent breaks given also, my progress was reviewed each day so i knew exactly what to work on in order to pass my test, which i did so with 4 minors, one of those for taking a shunt. Im a nervous person and very negative and lack self confidence when it comes to tests, but i was reassured and guided into being a member of the elite (those that hold a class 1 )!!
I will be using them for all my other training needs most definitely (CPC etc).

I was sent to 2Start by a brocker to do my Class C and C+E as part of a complete package. Knowing what I know now, I wish I had gone direct and saved a load of money and completed my training much quicker. I was allocated to be trained by Bob and from the beginning I was made to feel comfortable and the training was of the highest standard with just the right balance between good instruction and allowing you to progress on you own. I passed my Class C first time in October and then went back for my C+E in January I failed my first test last week due to my own stupidity but my next test was rearranged almost immediately (Thanks Lorraine!) and with two more lessons from Paul to help my confidence I passed today. They really know their jobs and how to get the best from the students. If you live within travelling distance of Fareham this is the place for you. I cant recommend 2Start highly enough.
